The Higg Index 2022 – continuation of meaningful improvements towards sustainable practices

Audimas Supply, a leading European sportswear and outdoor wear manufacturer, continues to implement sustainable production practices and develop them further. Last year the company shared an effective self-assessment tool in the portfolio of sustainability metrics and certifications – the Higg Index.

The Higg Index is a self-assessment tool that standardizes how Audimas Supply chain measures and assesses environmental performance. The Higg Index is the primary assessment of sustainability in a standardized supply chain that has been internationally recognized and developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC).

The Higg Facility Environment Module (FEM) is a set of tools that enable a facility to accurately measure and evaluate a company’s sustainability performance at all stages of the sustainability journey. This assessment allows organizations to make meaningful improvements that are consistent across the scope of sustainable practices.

Environmental Facility Module covers seven key areas of a business’ performance:

  • Environmental management system
  • Energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
  • Water use
  • Wastewater
  • Emissions to air
  • Waste management
  • Chemical use and management

Since 2021 Audimas Supply had expanded Higg FEM module further, so now it is active both in Kaunas and Jonava facilities. In continuation of the company’s consistent move toward more sustainable production, the Higg FEM assessment was carried out for both divisions of the company.

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition certifies that the facility named above utilizes the Higg Index to measure and grow its sustainability practice.
